fotoMrs. Agostoni’s son knocked insistently on the door, entered without being invited and slumped with a sigh on Mr Nilai’s brown couch. Mutely, staring intently at his neighbour, he lit a rolled cigarette, leaving the impassive old man increasingly appalled. Enveloped by a cloud of smoke strangely flavored, Mr Nilai began to feel happy and light, in a totally unusual way, as allegedly would have told whoever knew him well. “Here, this is for later,” said before leaving Mrs. Agostoni’s son, while tossing him a rolled cigarette. And Mr Nilai, who had never smoked a cigarette in all his life, started suddenly to appreciate the pleasures of a good joint, wondering in the meantime which brand would he have to ask the next day to the tobacconist.

  2. “No don’t pick up the habit Mr Nilai!”

As usual, I like what I read! 🙂 Feels like I was there in the room too.

And Mr Nilai developped an unusual craving for chocolate bars as well. Something similar actually happened to an art teacher of mine many many years ago. And no, it wasn’t me who “corrupted” him.
